Chip BristolLee H. “Chip” Bristol
Chip Bristol, founder of The Sanctuary, now known as The Greensboro School of Creativity, presently serves as the Chaplain and Director of Advancement of Prodigals Community in Winston-Salem. Coming to us from a career in schools where he served as chaplain and then Headmaster, Chip believes in the value of community as well as the connection between spirituality and creativity.

Frank Cheney
Frank CheneyAfter Frank Cheney received his undergraduate degree in architecture from the University of Notre Dame, including a year of study in Rome, he worked in New York a while before obtaining his Master of Architecture from Yale University. He has taught at several prestigious institutions including being an Assistant to Vincent Scully at Yale University, holding a position as Thesis Advisor at Boston Architectural Center, and being an Architectural Jury Critic for the University of Pennsylvania. He founded his own architectural firm in 1988 and has been directly involved in all design, management, and project development. Along the path of his career, he has garnered awards and recognition.
Frank's interest in, and appreciation for, the Greensboro School of Creativity led to his being asked to sit on the board of directors. His visionary perspective, business experience, and warm heart are great assets to GSC.

Brian DowtinBrian Dowtin
Brian Dowtin comes to GSC from a career in software development. He is the owner of HelperGeeks.com. His first involvement with the GSC was in helping setup their new network. This year he lead the GSC team in the Greensboro 48 hour film project. He is married to Cassie and has four children.

Nathan FinninNathan Finnin
Before being called to serve as the 5th chaplain at Canterbury School in Greensboro, NC, Nathan served as the assistant Rector at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Kinston, NC. A child of eastern North Carolina, Nathan grew up in Wilmington, and graduated from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill (B.A Philosophy, 2004) and Yale Divinity School (M.Div., 2008). Nathan enjoys live music, good books, and spending time with his wife Kaitlin and their English Bulldog, Dan.

Mike GarriganMike Garrigan
Mike Garrigan serves the Greensboro School of Creativity with a background in music. Music performance and audio production have been the focus of his 18 year career. Currently, Mike is the head engineer at Two Egrets Media & Recording. He is married to Holly and has a daughter, Ivy.

Horace Ghent
Horace Ghent is an active participant in programs at GSC and a strong supporter in the community. He is currently in the production quality control department of a local business where he has been employed for the past 23 years.

Laureen HavilandLaureen Haviland (Studio 200-C)
Originally from upstate New York, Laureen Haviland teaches yoga classes at GSC, with a 200hr RYT certification. She is a professional graphic designer by trade as well as a fine artist for fun. She is married to John and has two daughters.

Christopher LaneyChristopher Laney
Chris is a Greensboro writer whose work has appeared in Carolina Skies, NC Career Networking, American Venture, Eastern Technology Times, NC Signature, and Our State magazines. Active in the Greensboro community, he was recognized in 2006 by The Business Journal for their 40 Leaders under 40 Award. He is also author of the blog Lessons from the Cockpit: Everyday Wisdom from the Flying Life. Chris is working on his first novel about learning to Fly.

Donna LeeDonna Lee
Donna M. Lee comes to GSC from a career in Accounting as a CPA at KPMG Peat Marwick, State Street Properties and Alliance Management. She and her husband now own a Family Management Business called Dynamic Family Opportunities, LLC specializing in assisting families navigate their financial and family management obligations. Her first involvement with GSC began with various painting classes and then later by assisting the GSC staff with the set up of the financial system. She is married to Andy and has 5 children.

Jon Shapiro
Jon comes to the GSC from a career in human resources in the hospitality industry. He is currently Sr. Talent Manager with ResourceOne. Jon has been active with the GSC and The Sanctuary since its inception. He is a previous board member and was a participant in GSC’s first three book study workshops. Jon is married to Elaine and they have two daughters.

Wayne YoungWayne Young
Wayne Young is a “charter member” of the Friday morning men’s spirituality discussion group and also sang in the Rutter “Requiem” concert a couple of years ago. He is a real estate broker with Allen Tate’s North Elm office, serving both residential and commercial clients throughout the Triad. Prior to that he was a teacher and administrator at The Canterbury School. He celebrates 25 years of marriage to Sandy this June and has two children, Matthew (17) and Elisabeth (21).
